En el D\u00eda Mundial de la Tortuga, la corporaci\u00f3n hace un llamado a la protecci\u00f3n de este animal silvestre.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

En cumplimiento de su misi\u00f3n de velar por la protecci\u00f3n y bienestar de la fauna, la Corporaci\u00f3n Aut\u00f3noma Regional del Tolima, Cortolima, ha atendido 385 tortugas entre 2022 y lo corrido de 2024, a trav\u00e9s del Centro de Atenci\u00f3n y Valoraci\u00f3n de Fauna Silvestre (CAV).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tan solo en los primeros meses de este a\u00f1o, los profesionales del CAV han recibido 43 tortugas, procedentes de incautaciones, entregas voluntarias y rescates, las cuales son sometidas a la respectiva valoraci\u00f3n cl\u00ednica-biol\u00f3gica y comportamental.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seg\u00fan explic\u00f3 Diego Iglesias, m\u00e9dico veterinario de la entidad, los individuos luego ingresan a un proceso de cuarentena para determinar su origen y devolverlos a su h\u00e1bitat natural en diferentes zonas del Tolima o en otros departamentos, con apoyo de otras corporaciones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El profesional indic\u00f3 que, en este mismo periodo, tras cumplir el proceso de rehabilitaci\u00f3n f\u00edsica y biol\u00f3gica, han sido liberadas 214 tortugas. La mayor\u00eda de los individuos, explic\u00f3 Iglesias, pertenecen a las especies morrocoy (Chelonoidis carbonarius) y hicotea (Trachemys callirostris).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
